We are hoping that the plans to bring Speedway back to a site just over the border in Wiltshire are successful and are watching the planning application closely. In the meantime, we have urged Clarke Osbourn, the Stadium Owner, to not bring forward any plans for the Abbey Stadium. We know all about his past with closed Speedway teams and bankrupt football clubs behind him and will do all we can to keep the Abbey Stadium for leisure use. The real damage was done years ago when Cllr Dale Heenan was Chair of the Planning Committee and approved the start of the site being used for Housing.
