We are delighted that the Labour Government has given us £40m for two key areas of the town. £20m over 10 years for both Penhill and Walcot through the Trailblazer and Pride in Place funding programmes.
We are still in the planning stage, but will receive the money in April next year and want to hit the ground running to really transform the areas. We are really pleased that the Government has set such a strong need for the community to be involved in how the money is spent and we will be running Let’s Talk Penhill and Let’s Talk Walcot sessions soon to get residents ideas on how best to invest the money.
It is great to get this support. It shows the value of a Labour government working with two great Labour MPs alongside the Labour Council and Labour Parishes to really deliver change!
