We were right to bring forward the Build a Greener Swindon mission. Swindon was lagging in combatting Net Zero under the Tories and it is great to be catching up and investing in this work. We secured millions from the government to increase tree planting, are investing in new cleaner fuels for the Council fleet and are learning from impressive companies in the town who are leading the way on green investment. It was amazing to see Panattoni reuse and recycle almost 99% of the Honda site as they reused the concrete and steel from the demolition to create the new buildings on site.
Jan Update – We brought forward the Decarbonisation Plan for the town and are pushing ahead with green projects as part of the Swindon Plan missions.
